Company Background

History of R.J.Lewis Co., Inc.

R.J.Lewis was started in August of 1980 by Jeff lewis in conjunction with the start of the Perfect North Slopes ski area. Incorperated in 1985, R.J.Lewis existed as a small entity for many years doing specialized work for a limited number of companys and individuals. In 1991, Jeff quit his full time job at Seagram Distilleries and proceeded to build R.J.Lewis into the biggest electrical contracting company based in Dearborn County. R.J.Lewis now employs 8 full time electricians and support staff, and our goal is customer service with positive results.

Work Philosophy

How we approach a project

R.J.Lewis approches a job as if it is our only one. An Electrician is assigned to your job with all the relevant information at hand. He will set up the job and comence work at the earliest possible date, coordinating with the owner/contractor on scheduling and specific needs of the job. More manpower is added when needed, and we will move on to other jobs when our services are not needed for a time, while the company keeps in contact with the owner/contractor to make sure that the schedule is not compromised. Exemplary work and customer satisfaction is our overriding goal.

About Us

About our name

R.J.Lewis is a compilation of initials originating from Jeff Lewis (J) and Richard Lewis (R) (Jeff's dad), The name was originally thought up by Jeff's Mom, Clara, who needed a business name to order a product from some company. Jeff liked the name and eventually used it for his company, partially in honor of his father, also an electrician, who now also works with the company.
